Some statistics on Women’s Mental Health for you:
1 in 5 women experience mental health issues in their life.
26% of young women aged between 16-24 report a common mental health disorder (anxiety, depression, stress) in any given week.
68% of women who experience anxiety are parents
The most common mental health problems experienced during pregnancy and after birth are anxiety, depression and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).
Please be reassured you are not alone if this is you, there is help available and you do not need to suffer.
We are not defined by our hormones or our mental health.
Reducing our anxiety and stress, lowering the stress hormones, is liberating and life-changing.
My background is in Women’s health, my career began as a Midwife, I added to it Contraceptive and Sexual Health Nursing and have a special interest in women’s mental health issues, Fertility, Pregnancy, Postnatal Mental Health, PMS, PMDD, low Libido, Sexual Dysfunction, Endometriosis, Polycystic ovaries, Menopause…
Whilst we may quite often blame things on our hormones and say “It’s that time of the month” there is actually far more to it than that, our increased stress and anxiety, as our lack of sleep, have an effect on the menstrual cycle, how we cope with day to day life and increases our sensitivity to the hormones we have just before our period.
How Hypnotherapy can help you is to help you reduce your stress hormones, help you cope better, and improve your sleep so you don’t feel so much of a slave to your hormones but more like yourself again.
