One of the great taboos in women’s lives is the changes we go through during Perimenopause and Menopause.

Perimenopause refers to the stage when you experience symptoms before your periods cease altogether and for the majority its thought it can last for approx 10 years.

Once you have not had a period for 12 consecutive months, you have officially reached Menopause.

Both perimenopause and menopause can cause a variety of symptoms, including anxiety, mood swings, difficulty with concentration, hot flushes, irregular periods, and loss of libido…

For the majority of women, the main symptoms of the Menopause which create the biggest distress are hot flushes/night sweats, increase in anxiety and mood swings, feeling tired, forgetful and perhaps not like yourself (there are actually over 30 recognised symptoms of the Menopause, these are just a few!)

Everyone is unique and everyone can get different symptoms as they pass through this totally normal phase of life.

Regardless of whether Menopause happens in your late 40’s – 50’s, is classed as premature (before your 40’s) has been induced due to surgery or medical procedures, you may find that Hypnotherapy would be helpful for you to navigate this time in your life.

Hypnotherapy can be massively beneficial to help you cope with this change, not only for the help you cope with changes but also to help reduce the stress hormones we all create from time to time which can exacerbate those symptoms of menopause.

When we control this stress hormone, we reduce the symptoms, increase our ability to cope with the changes and in turn focus more on the day-to-day positives.
